Overview

Brent Jacobs grew up in Los Angeles and hails from artistic roots. His mother was an actress and his father was a commercial artist and a sports illustrator.

Finishing his undergraduate work in Theater Arts at Long Beach State Brent headed to New York to study drama with Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio.  After working as an actor for several years in Hollywood he realized acting was not a sustainable way of making a living.  Brent ventured into commercial real estate, specializing in the life science industry for 42 years.

Upon retiring, Brent studied art with Jeff Yeomans at the Athenaeum in La Jolla learning about color harmony and composition.  Oscar Aguirre at the Artes studio in San Miguel de Allende also influenced his palette.

Brent’s paintings have an expressionist use of line and color, and emotional intensity.  He is known for his paintings depicting friends, family and people from his travels.
