Some Things Fishy.... & 4 The Birds

Artist Statement:

“SOME THINGS FISHY . . . & 4 THE BIRDS”
This art show includes recent paintings from this past year. Most of the paintings are a form of gyotaku (traditional Japanese fish printing) completed in acrylic paint on synthetic rice paper. The sizes range from 11” to 36”. These painting are from fish that I have caught in La Jolla on my kayak. There are a couple of fish paintings and a few bird paintings that I painted from photos and did not catch. These are all completed with oil on canvas. I was also asked to bring four of my older paintings of San Diego. I have stretched nearly all of the canvases and built the largest frames.
