Human Connections

29 September - 18 October 2021
Overview

BFREE STUDIO proudly presents Human Connections, an exceptional exhibition of work by painters Scott W. Prior and Brent Jacobs. The show has been carefully curated with pieces whose vivid depictions of scenes from everyday life communicate a respect for keen human observation. Rife with almost lyrical movement, both gentlemen’s work invite the viewer into moments in time caught in the artist’s mind and communicated through careful aesthetic preparation.

Brent Jacobs grew up in Los Angeles and hails from artistic roots. His mother was an actress and his father was a commercial artist and sports illustrator. After Brent earned a degree in Theater Arts from Long Beach State, Brent headed to New York and studied drama under Lee Strasberg at the Artists Studio. After several years working as an actor in Hollywood, Brent pursued commercial real estate. In his retirement, Brent began studies with Jeff Yeomans at the Anthenaeum in La Jolla where he learned about the relationship between color harmony and composition.

Scott Prior is a Southern California native and award-winning oil painter. Scott holds a BFA from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Scott has exhibited his work in juried shows and invitational events across the country and has received a variety of awards and recognitions. Scott’s strong foundation in design, drawing and painting are a solid foundation for creating pieces inspired by the beauty of ordinary things.

Brent Jacobs will be donating proceeds from the sale of his work to HARK Healing Arts whose mission is to bring healing and coping techniques through creative experiences so that pediatric cancer patients can better express failures and triumphs.
