The Many Shades of Us

Designed to evoke feelings of joy, love and personal inspiration, The Many Shades of Us is a solo exhibition by Edna Pines that draws inspiration from nature and is communicated through an energetic, colorful, mixed-media approach.

Oceanscapes:

Just like a wave in the ocean, life can pull you in and push you back out. Life is full of lessons and reminders. This series is intended to help the viewer find their inner peace and tap into the freedom we all crave in our busy daily lives. I hope it helps us to breathe in awareness, become conscientious of our feelings, and clear our focus. 

Floating Garden:

In each Floating Garden piece, the lines represent chapters of our lives. They’re not always straight because life is not linear— it is filled with curves and broken obstacles we have to overcome. The petals represent your self-worth, your strength,  and the resilience you’ve gained on your journey to becoming who you are today.

Florals:

There is delicacy, diversity, and beauty all around us. Nature is a constant reminder that when we slow down, we are better able to appreciate the small, yet powerful, details. Life happens one petal at a time. I hope that the contrasting and dynamic colors that are found in this series remind you to appreciate all parts of yourself. You are beautiful just as you show up — and together we can celebrate our differences in all its forms. Let this series be a celebration of all religions, genders, ethnicities, abilities, and nationalities.

Birds:

Birds are the connection of spirituality and the messengers of afterlife. In this series, the birds are messengers of self-love, bringing you reminders to celebrate the many powers within you. As you view this series, pay attention to each of the titles. Each bird encapsulates a different quality that can be found within us, and I hope this series can help you tap into any quality that resonates with you.
