BFREE Studio is proud to present Come Together, an exhibition featuring Barbara Rabkin and Jeffrey Galinson. The show will run from April 22 through May 4, 2022.

Born and raised in La Jolla, California, artist Jeff Galinson was educated at UC Boulder and the New York Academy of Art.

As a painter, Jeffrey attends to the exploration, interpretation and presentation of the multifarious aspects of (mainly) natural objects; to their singular uniqueness, their relation to one another and to the formal demands of the rectangular canvas. Value and hue, form and composition are regarded an translated with pigment and brush in a way that is meant to both visually delight as well as draw the viewer into a deeper contemplation of the strange beauty of the natural world.

Says Galinson “I aspire to find a balance between realistic representation and abstract mark making. If I can create an image – a drawing or painting – that satisfies the eye, engages the mind, and summons an emotional response in the viewer, then I feel I’ve achieved my goal.”

Barbara H. Rabkin is a self-educated multi-media artist. She has taught and exhibited her art in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. She continued to teach and show art in Panama where she loves and creates art in her home studio in Carmel Valley, San Diego.

Barbara developed her interest in painting on silk when her son asked her to create his wedding chuppa which led her into making wearable art and teaching silk painting at the Art Academy of Cincinnati’s community education program.

Rabkin works in a variety of mediums including acrylic, watercolor, oil, pencil, collage, mosaic, clay and textiles. Her art reflects the influences of the many places she’s lived – Ohio, Wahington D.C., Israel, Washington Heights/New York City and Boquete, Panema.

Says Rabkin “Whatever the media, I approach the creative process with spontaneity and energy, as a process of discovery.”
